Football Predictions Without Betting

LaPreBet is a football prediction and calibration platform. You can see AI probabilities, compare them against bookmaker implied odds, record your own predictions, and track how accurate they are — without placing a single bet, spending money, or even creating an account.

Who this is for

There is a large group of people who love the analysis side of football without wanting to gamble. This includes:

• People who enjoy probability and forecasting as a skill
• People who are self-excluded from bookmakers or in recovery from problem gambling
• Partners, family members, or friends of problem gamblers who still want to engage with football
• Football fans who are curious about AI predictions but not interested in betting
• Data analysts and researchers who want to compare statistical models against market prices

Current prediction sites are almost universally bookmaker affiliates — the "predictions" exist to funnel traffic into sportsbooks. LaPreBet does not have bookmaker affiliate relationships and does not earn money from pointing users toward gambling.

What the product does — and doesn't do

The harm-reduction context

Problem gambling affects roughly 1–2% of adults in most countries, with each person affected typically impacting 6–10 close family members and friends. Self-excluded users — people who have asked bookmakers to ban them — currently have almost no sports prediction surface that is safe for them to use: every mainstream site either is a bookmaker or sends traffic to one.

LaPreBet was built partly to fill that gap. The calibration and comparison features — seeing how the AI's probability and the market's implied probability move over days, scoring your own predictions, tracking your accuracy over a season — are genuinely engaging and satisfy the same intellectual appetite as betting analysis without the financial stakes. The product is designed to be usable by someone in recovery from gambling addiction without triggering a relapse.

The harm-reduction positioning isn't a marketing skin. It determines what we build and what we don't. Features that would replicate the slot-machine dopamine loop (countdown timers, near-miss animations, "your lucky day" copy, push notifications timed for bet-placement) are not in the product and won't be added.

How prediction tracking works

On any upcoming fixture, you can:

1. Submit a crowd prediction (anonymous — no account required). Choose exact score, result (home/draw/away), over/under 2.5 goals, or both teams to score.
2. Sign in by email (no password — we send a one-click magic link) to save fixtures to your personal dashboard and record a private prediction you track over time.
3. After the final whistle, your result prediction gets a Brier score. The fixture detail page shows your score alongside the AI's and the bookmaker's in a comparison table.

The Brier score penalises confident-wrong predictions more than timid-correct ones, which means you can't game it by always saying "50%/25%/25%" — you're rewarded for accurate confidence, not just correct calls. See How prediction accuracy is measured for the full explanation.

Legal status

LaPreBet is an information and calibration service, not a gambling operator. We do not hold a gambling licence in any jurisdiction, because we do not require one: we do not accept stakes and do not pay out winnings contingent on match outcomes. The UK Gambling Commission excludes services that don't accept stakes from the scope of the Gambling Act 2005. The same exclusion applies in most EU jurisdictions.

We are registered and operated in compliance with GDPR (EU/UK). You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from your dashboard settings.
